A normal distributor mark-up is from 35 to 45%, depending on the particular distributor involved. They may or may not be purchasing the product from the most cost effective source. Cost effective means good, consistent quality at a fair price. We have some expertise in dealing with these products, good sources of supply and a knowledge that we don't need 35 plus % to be successful and profitable. We did a study of 4 facilities for one of our major accounts. We looked at the Medical Record/X-ray Jackets and indexing for each of them. We quoted pricing based precisely on the same product, the same quantities, storage arrangements, terms of payment, etc. The result was an average savings of 21%. For these 4 facilities that was about $8000/year. The savings ranged from a low of 13% in one facility to a high of 42% in another. Incidentally, the 4 facilities were buying these products from 4 different companies. There are no guarantees here, but we will do our very best to legitimately reduce your costs. We need one complete sample of your Medical Records Jacket. If your filing system is numerical create a dummy folder utilizing the last number you have in sequence. If filing alphabetically, create a dummy folder for Jane Doe. Please send a sample of each and every label that gets applied to your Medical Record Jackets as well as a complete set of indexes, if you use them. Send a Sample X-ray jacket prepared in the same way as the Medical Record Jacket depending on type of coding and labels used. It isn't necessary that you fill in the pricing information, if you choose not to.
